- To work with us: We are very easy to work with, and can guide our customers through all stages of the process.
-
- At the early stages of an enquiry, if it is practical, we like to meet our clients in person and visit the site where the glass is to go. We like to establish a dialogue with clients and discuss in person their individual requirements and aspirations for each particular project. If a personal meeting is not practical, we can work by email, phone or post, or from site visits, photographs or architectural drawings.
-
- The key to a good creative solution is good communication. The first stage will always be for us to get to know each other. We can then start to discuss some ideas and approaches, which might include the style, budget, colours, and other considerations relevant to the project. This will form the design brief for the commission, and will lead on to the next stage.
-
- After this initial consultation we will generally to do the initial concept proposal free of charge. This might include some alternative ideas and prices, and will serve to establish the final design proposal. Once the design direction is established, we will produce a finished design illustration and final quotation.
-
- To proceed further we will normally require a commitment of an agreed design fee, or a written order, first payment and all relevant dimensions in order to start the fabrication of the commission.
-
- We will have already established the program for manufacture, and will generally obtain dimensions on your behalf from site or from the frame manufacturer. If required, we can organize the framework as well, and will then work closely with the frame fabricator. Projects can be complex, and can involve large amounts of project management, regulatory compliance, Health and Safety documentation and Method Statements and maintenance instructions. Cardross Glass is CIS registered, VAT registered and We will organise fabrication, shipping and installation as required
-
- Please note that while this tries to describe the progression of a typical job, all projects are different, and the work stages indicated should only be taken as a general description of the overall work that can be involved.
-
- Pricing: Since every commission has its own individual characteristics, it is not possible to provide a price list.
- The scope of the work, specification of the materials, the techniques required and site conditions will all have an effect on the final price.
- As a rough guide, while a small commission might start at £1,000, a more complex project will be from £3000 upwards per square meter, depending of course on innumerable variables. While payment terms vary according to individual situations, our standard terms are:
- 50% at the commissioning of the project.
- 25% on completion of fabrication.
- 25% on delivery or at the completion of installation.
